My greatest achievement is...

Not letting epilepsy get in my way

Although I have epilepsy, I have tried to never let it stop me from following my dreams.

One of my main achievements was having a great time at university, both in Wales & Germany, then gaining my degree in Modern Languages.

I have also studied & taught abroad. These days, I enjoy meeting lots of people, using my languages as an Immigration Officer at Luton Airport, having joined the Civil Service & started work at Heathrow in 1993.

I know I am lucky to have a very supportive employer,and I try my best to offer them practical information without making a big issue out of my health.

I do hope this record of achievment might provide some encouragement to those who are thinking their epilepsy might prevent them from finding happiness.
