'Epilepsy Aware' Scheme for GP Practices and Pharmacies

Epilepsy Action has begun a campaign to make GP practices and pharmacies more aware of the needs of people with epilepsy. When you see one of these stickers:

it means the practice or pharmacy is epilepsy-friendly and has committed to three principles as outlined below:

• They are committed to providing their customers and patients with information about epilepsy and their medication
• They are committed to discussing issues about anti-epileptic medication with their customers including:
  • potential side-effects
  • consistency of supply
  • drug interactions
• They are willing to provide their customers with contact details for Epilepsy Action's freephone Epilepsy Helpline 0808 800 5050 and website: www.epilepsy.org.uk, should they require further information
