For our 'Save our Sapphires' campaign, Epilepsy Action has launched this new section of the website, for people to show support for their epilepsy specialist nurse.

"Epilepsy specialist nurses provide invaluable support to people with epilepsy and their families. We need more of them, so that every person with epilepsy in the country can benefit from their expertise, advice and care."
- Author William Fiennes, Epilepsy Action vice-president
If you have an epilepsy specialist nurse, tell us what your nurse means to you. Tell us, the health service and other people with epilepsy who don’t have access to a nurse, what your nurse means to you.
Can you think of one important thing that your nurse has done for you, or helped you with, that improved your epilepsy treatment or your quality of life?
No matter how big or small, we want to complete a picture of the many duties that an ESN is involved in. We want to show why appointing a nurse (or losing one) would make such a difference.
If you don’t have an epilepsy specialist nurse, tell us what difference it could make to your life.
Can you complete any of these sentences?
- "We love our epilepsy specialist nurse because..."
- "I need my epilepsy specialist nurse because…"
- "I wish I had an epilepsy specialist nurse because…"
If you leave us with the details of your nurse, we will try and make sure every one of your comments is passed on to him/her. We're also posting a selection of your messages here on our website.
We would like to pass your comments onto your nurse and their employer so they can see their work is appreciated. We will try to do this if you can give us their name and tell us where they are based.
We believe it is time that epilepsy specialist nurses were valued and appreciated as much by the NHS as they are by Epilepsy Action and their patients.
