Campaigning coming up - National Epilepsy Week 15-21 May

The theme of this year’s National Epilepsy Week is information.

Information can be the key to good treatment. Information from a patient, about a patient, information on treatments and the condition itself. Information is the key to understanding your condition, accessing services and having the best chance of safe and successful treatment.

One way that Epilepsy Action is hoping to provide people with information, is to hold an Epilepsy Action Radio Day.

This is, as the name suggests, a whole day of radio programmes all about epilepsy, which will be broadcast online. It will cover all sorts of content, from a traditional breakfast show full of interviews and chat, to more serious sections on benefits and social care. We want to create the kinds of programmes we wish mainstream media would pick up – and we hope it will ultimately inspire them to do so.

You will be able to listen online during the day, or download the programmes from our website after the event.

We are still in the planning stages and will put more information about the day in our next newsletter, and on our National Epilepsy Week page.
