Epilepsy Action aims to better understand epilepsy – and that’s what drives our relentless investment in research. Only then are we within reach of finding the causes and then the cures.
YES! I want to fund research to help understand epilepsy
- £25 could help a volunteer with epilepsy take part in research
- £75 could help fund a new research project
Our research commitment
The best way to improve our understanding of epilepsy is by supporting independent researchers’ projects. Catherine Crow is a PhD student whose research is funded by Epilepsy Action.
Catherine commented, “I know the findings of my research will help us understand epilepsy more and directly help people experiencing seizures for the first time. If Epilepsy Action didn’t help to fund my work, I simply wouldn’t be able to do it.”
The work of young researchers like Catherine, as PhD students today and as tomorrow’s Professors, must not be stopped due to a simple lack of money.
Our research fund
As an organisation we are almost entirely funded by supporters like you. Our current research programme receives no government funding. It was started by a legacy from a dedicated supporter in her will, but these funds are now running out.
We face having to drastically cut back or possibly stop our research. For our vital research to continue, we need your help.
Open the booklet to find out more about what we hope to achieve through research and how your donation can make a difference. See the part you could play in helping people with epilepsy, not just today but into the future.

Chair of Epilepsy Action’s Research Committee
P.S. A one-off gift will allow us to continue our vital research this year. But a regular monthly gift will secure the future of research into epilepsy as we make advances towards finding the causes and cures. Thank you.
