Technical editing/writing and copyright
Last checked 06/10/2008
Epilepsy Action is pleased to offer a technical editing service for organisations who are writing any epilepsy related material. We make the following charges for our service.
Technical Editing
| Type of organisation | Minimum charge | Additional cost (per hour) |
| Non voluntary | £100 | £20 |
| Voluntary | negotiable | negotiable |
If you need us to, we will also write original epilepsy information to meet your needs. We will discuss charges with you before we start. Charges will depend on how long we estimate this writing will take. We will expect Epilepsy Action to be acknowledged as contributors or writers. We may decide that the work you want us to do is outside our remit, or that we don’t currently have the resources to carry out the work requested. If that is the case, we will tell you straight away.
Using our written information
All Epilepsy Action material is protected by copyright. In some circumstances we may give you permission to reproduce up to 200 words, so long as you acknowledge that the material is taken from Epilepsy Action’s website/publications. We will expect you to include contact details for the Epilepsy Helpline: freephone 0800 800 5050, text 07797 805 390, helpline@epilepsy.org.uk, www.epilepsy.org.uk.
If you need to reproduce more than 200 words of Epilepsy Action material, you will need to have permission to do this from Epilepsy Action’s Communications Manager, Sue Mitchell, email: smitchell@epilepsy.org.uk . You will be expected to display Epilepsy Action’s logo, alongside your own, on the Epilepsy Action material you reproduce. We may charge you a fee for doing this.
