This is your right if you believe you have been wrongly diagnosed with epilepsy, or if you believe an error has been made by the DVLA. Firstly check with your doctor, as they may be able to find out more information about your case from the DVLA.

There are strict timescales in which to lodge a formal appeal. At a Magistrates court it is six months from the date of the DVLA’s decision. At a Sheriff’s court you have 21 days to lodge an appeal.

You will then need to appeal to the DVLA. If you believe the DVLA’s decision is unlawful, you can then appeal to your local Magistrates or Sheriff Court.
