If a pupil whose epilepsy is not controlled joins the school, all staff should be aware of that pupil and their seizure type(s). All members of staff should know what to do if the pupil has a seizure, and all members of staff who work directly with the child should be trained in first aid for seizures. This includes support staff such as lunchtime supervisors.
