of everyone affected by epilepsy

Transport

If your child has transport to and from school organised by the authority, for example a school bus, the authority should provide properly trained drivers and escorts. This may mean an escort receives training in first aid for seizures or how to give emergency medicine. The driver and/or escort may need to read and perhaps keep a copy of your child’s Individual Healthcare Plan (IHP).

Further information is available in the government guides Managing medicines in schools and early years settings, and Home to school travel for pupils requiring special arrangements. Details of these publications are in the directory at the end of this guide.
