This information is of general use in epilepsy and employment. However, references to regulations apply to people in the UK only. If you live outside the UK, then more information about epilepsy and employment where you are will be available from your local epilepsy organisation.

By law, your employer must take out insurance against injury and disease that might affect you at work. This insurance should cover you as long as they take your epilepsy into account when allocating work to you. If your employer does not know about your epilepsy, they will not be able to do this, so you may not be covered by their insurance if you had an accident at work.
