Getting pregnant- sometimes takes a while…

It took us four years to manage a successful pregnancy
Using the natural intrauterine insemination technique IUI (an artificial insemination technique that does not use fertility drugs), it took us three years to conceive first time around. While on lamotrigine I miscarried at three months.

Baby faceI came off the lamotrigine after our miscarriage (with my neurologist’s knowledge) but we still couldn't conceive. We feel lucky to haven fallen pregnant again, a year later (again using natural IUI technique). This time we went full term and now have a healthy, happy nine month old baby boy.

(Note from the editor- artificial insemination is a form of fertility treatment where sperm is medically placed in the women’s uterus).
