Raymond Briggs creator of ‘The Snowman’ is supporting Epilepsy Action’s 2007 Christmas Collection catalogue.
Philippa Corner, fundraising officer at Epilepsy Action says: “This year Raymond Briggs took part in our National Doodle Day by drawing his famous picture of ‘The Snowman’. His doodle raised an amazing £1,300. We thought that his doodle would be brilliant as a Christmas card and as the front cover for this year’s Christmas catalogue.”
The charity’s new Christmas catalogue sells Christmas essentials such as cards, stocking fillers, advent calendars and Epilepsy Action merchandise.
Raymond Briggs says: “I think it’s fantastic that Epilepsy Action have used my doodle as a Christmas card. I want to encourage people to order their copy of the catalogue and get their hands on some of the ‘triffic’ products on offer!”
To coincide with the Christmas catalogue Epilepsy Action has launched its annual Christmas raffle, with top prize being £2,000 cash! The charity is appealing to people to buy and sell raffle tickets to their local area to help raise vital funds for the 456,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK.
Epilepsy Action depends on income from this raffle, the Christmas Collection catalogue and other fundraising events to pay for the charity’s advice and information services, and vital campaigning work. Last year alone, the charity provided advice, support and information to 660,000 people on a wide variety of issues relating to epilepsy.
The raffle draw will take place on Friday December 21. If you would like to order raffle tickets or a Christmas catalogue, please contact Philippa Corner on 0113 210 8800, or visit our website www.epilepsy.org.uk.
