My son John has had epilepsy for nearly 7 years and he is okay with it, but as a mother its very painfull and you worry all the time. John is 25 this year and is on medication the rest of his life, which hurts me, he wasnt born with it, he got it when he was badly attacked by a so called friend and he had to get an opperation through his injuries!!! John didnt charge the guy for it which i wanted to!!! My son is a very cosiderate guy and always puts his sister Megan and me first, im just so hurt that my boy has to go through life like this, he cant do his landscaping job that he has got degrees for, he is very limited to what jobs he can do??? I am 47 years of age and would like to raise funds for the charity and anyone else who will jion me!! thankyou from a very proud mum xxx

I have already posted this on the Epilepsy Action Heroes Facebook page, but I am very proud(and humbled)to say that I have been chosen to carry the Olympic Torch through the Lincolnshire village of Immingham(next Tuesday,26th June).I will be taking any advantage of publicity to raise the name and profile of this charity, for whom I have now completed the Great North Run four times.

Work colleagues have already expressed an interest in seeing the torch on my return, and the idea has passed my mind(with friends and colleagues in agreement)to offer photo opportunities with it in return for a donation. On collation of this exercise I'll forward any monies raised.

I remain incredibly grateful of the advice and comfort I have received since my own diagnosis(2008)with the condition and will continue to promote as and when I can.

With thanks and warmest regards,

Kevin
