So, how many pennies in a mile?

The penny marathon works on one penny measuring two centimetres. There are 2,080,000 pennies in 26 miles, so this is how your pennies measure up...

Pennies

¼ mile
20,000 pennies = £200

½ mile
40,000 pennies = £400

1 mile
80,000 pennies = £800

10 miles
800,000 pennies = £20,800

If you can’t make it to quarter of a mile, why not take a few strides in the right direction? Your stride could raise as much as £5.

Our target of 26 miles will raise £20,800 for people living with epilepsy.

Why not set yourself a target?

Whether you take a few steps or go for a whole mile, we can send you our target sheet to colour in as you go!

Do you want to take it even further? Get in touch and we can talk to you about events and collections at supermarkets

Where do I send my pennies?

Once you have decided you would like to send us the money you have collected, you need to count up what you have got.

You can then sort it out into money bags – your bank should have these for you – and pay it into your account. Then if you send us a cheque for the amount you have raised, made payable to ‘Epilepsy Action’.

Cheques can be sent to ‘Penny Marathon, New Anstey House, Gate Way Drive, Yeadon, Leeds, LS19 7XY’. Please be sure to include your details with your cheque so we can thank you for your donation. Would you like a certificate to say how much you have raised, and what distance your pennies covered? Please get in touch and we can get one sent out to you.
