Where: Scotland, Lake District, United Kingdom and Wales
Distance: 3 day trek, approximately 8 hours of walking each day
Registration fee: £45 (non-refundable)
Minimum sponsorship pledge: £850
About the National three Peaks three Day Challenge
Why not challenge yourself and scale the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in three days? Ben Nevis is 1,343 metres (4,406 feet), Scafell Pike is 978 metres (3,208 feet) and Mount Snowdon is 1,085 metres (3,560 feet)
This is a fantastic opportunity to test your limits and set yourself a real challenge. It will be an adventure to remember!
You will be trekking for three consecutive days. Approximately 8 hours walking is involved each day over unevent terrain.
Itinerary
Friday
- Leave Glasgow late afternoon for the journey to your comfortable accommodation in Fort William, arriving in time for dinner with the team
Saturday
- After breakfast you head into Glen Nevis for a safety brief and equipment check before heading up the Pony Track to the summit of Ben Nevis.
- Weather permitting you will have lunch on the summit, taking in the spectacular views. You will then head down to your transport for the journey to your overnight accommodation in the Lake District
Sunday
- After a hearty breakfast you depart for Wasdale Head, next to England's deepest lake. You take a spectacular route up the mountain, with views far across the area, before stopping for lunch on England's highest point.
- Retracing your steps back to the start, you then head south to Wales for a well earned meal and a good night’s sleep
Monday
- Head into the Llanberis Pass to start the ascent of the mighty Snowdon.
- Well marked tracks take you to the summit where stunning views await! On return to the base you head to a local pub for a celebratory drink before the journey home
