A gift in memory

Everyone remembers a loved one in their own way. Many people choose to make a gift to Epilepsy Action at the funeral instead of giving flowers, on the anniversary of a special date or by taking part in an event.

If you would like to make donations in memory, there are a number of ways you can do this.

Sunflower FundsSet up a Sunflower Fund

You can celebrate the life of someone special by setting up a Sunflower Fund in their name.

What is a Sunflower Fund?

A Sunflower Fund gives you your own web space to personalise with words and pictures and share with family and friends. Visitors to the site can write comments, view the photo gallery or simply light a virtual candle.

If you are organising an event, remembering a date or celebrating a special occasion, you can ask for donations to your fund. Donations can be made through the Sunflower Fund website and you will be able to see at a glance how much you have raised in memory of your loved one.

As your Sunflower Fund grows you can be assured that all the money raised will help us to support people with epilepsy, making your gift a truly lasting one.

How do I set up a Sunflower Fund up?

It’s quick and easy to set up a Sunflower Fund online. Or you can email sunflower@epilepsy.org.uk or call 0113 210 8800, International Callers: +44 113 210 8800 for further information.

In memory donations

Many people choose to make a donation instead of giving flowers at a funeral. Others choose to remember their loved one on special anniversaries by making a donation in memory.

If you would like to make a donation in memory of someone, please just let us know their name and, if known, the date they died when you make your gift.
We will tell the next of kin how much has been raised in total. However, we will not disclose individual details.

Collection envelopesCollection Envelopes:  We can provide collection envelopes for gifts to be made in memory. You may wish to use these at a funeral, wake or in memoriam service. We can arrange to send either directly to the next of kin or to the funeral director as required. Provided with freepost directly to Epilepsy Action and a Gift Aid declaration, the collection envelopes are also helpful to those wishing to donate by cheque or credit card. LeafletThe funeral director will be happy to collect the envelopes along with cash donations and send them to us. By completing the tear off slip and placing in the envelope your details can be sealed in for privacy and security.

If you would like to request in memory collection envelopes or would like more information about in memory giving, please call 0113 210 8800, International callers: +44 113 210 8800 or email inmemory@epilepsy.org.uk.
