Fundraising Guide
Money

Staff from Leeds Bradford International Airport handing over cash to members of Epilepsy Action's fundraising team

The main aim of your fundraising event is of course to raise as much money as possible so that Epilepsy Action can continue to carry out its vital work. If you don’t make as much money as you had originally intended don’t worry. However, there are a couple of things you can do to try to make your fundraising a little bit easier.

  • Try to collect as much money as possible in advance of the event.
  • Try to collect any outstanding money as soon as possible. If you leave it too long before collecting the money, people may have forgotten about the event and their (and your) enthusiasm may have waned.
  • Don’t try to do too much on your own - recruit some friends to help you. They may be able to take your sponsor forms around to people they know or may even be willing to help with the actual organisation of an event.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for sponsors. People are full of surprises and are often willing to contribute to your cause. However, unless you approach them they won’t be able to help.

Sending your money to Epilepsy Action

To ensure safe passage of money to Epilepsy Action we suggest you:

Either

Bank the money in your bank/building society and write a cheque to ‘Epilepsy Action’ for the total amount.

Or

If you don’t have a cheque account, ask a friend to do this for you. Alternatively ask the bank to write you a bankers’ draft, made payable to ‘Epilepsy Action’ for the amount or buy postal orders with the money.

Please do not send cash through the post as it could easily go missing.

Please send the money to:

Epilepsy Action
New Anstey House
Gate Way Drive
Yeadon
LEEDS
LS19 7XY

Please enclose a brief note explaining why this money has been sent. This is necessary to complete our records but, more importantly, it will ensure we are able to show our appreciation.
