A gift in memory

Everyone remembers a loved one in their own way. Many people choose to make a gift to Epilepsy Action at the funeral instead of giving flowers, on the anniversary of a special date or by taking part in an event.

If you would like to make donations in memory of a loved one, there are a number of ways you can do this.

Setting up a Sunflower Fund

You can celebrate the life of someone special by setting up a Sunflower Fund in their name.

What is a Sunflower Fund?

A Sunflower Fund gives you your own web space to personalise with words and pictures and share with family and friends. Visitors to the site can write comments, view the photo gallery or simply light a candle.

If you are organising an event, celebrating an anniversary or getting married, you can ask for donations to your fund. Donations can be made through the Sunflower Fund website and you can add photos and write blogs. You will be able to see at a glance how much you have raised in memory of your loved one.

As your Sunflower Fund grows you can be assured that all the money raised will help us to support people with epilepsy, making your gift a truly lasting one.

How do I set a Sunflower Fund up?

It’s quick and easy to set up a Sunflower Fund online. Or you can email sunflower@epilepsy.org.uk or call 0113 210 8800, International Callers: +44 113 210 8800 for further information.

In memory donations and donations instead of flowers at a funeral

Through the funeral director: Gifts to Epilepsy Action in memory of a loved one may be arranged through your funeral director. They will then send the donations directly to us and we will send a card to the next of kin.

By post: Please let us know the name of the person who has died and the date they died. We will keep a record of all donations received in their memory so that we can keep the next of kin informed of the total received.

In memory cheques should be made payable to Epilepsy Action and posted to:

In Memory
Epilepsy Action
New Anstey House
Gate Way Drive
Yeadon
Leeds
LS19 7XY
UNITED KINGDOM

Online: You can choose to give a single donation or a regular gift by Direct Debit.

If you are a UK taxpayer and declare this when you make your donation Epilepsy Action can claim Gift Aid on your donation. This makes your donation worth and extra 28p for each £1 donated. Direct Debit and Gift Aid are only available to UK residents.

Donations online can also be made through a Sunflower Fund .

Phone: If you would like to make your donation by credit or debit card over the phone call 0113 210 8800, International Callers: +44 113 210 8800.
