The challenge

The original Inca Trail is said to be one of the top ten trekking trails in the world. Peru is one of the most fascinating countries in South America. With its breathtaking landscapes, stunning scenery and mysterious Inca sites, its home to one of the most famous footpaths in the world, the Inca Trail.

The adventure begins in the Inca capital of Cusco, a fascinating city, full of colonial charm, hidden deep in the Andes Mountains. At an altitude of 3,200 metres (10,499 feet), the first day is spent acclimatising by taking a trek around the famous Inca sites surrounding Cusco.

The next day the challenge of conquering the one and only Inca Trail that leads to Machu Picchu begins! This is the world's most important archaeological find and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World!

This classic Inca Trail includes three high mountain passes - the highest being 4,200 metres (13,779 feet). The five day trek will be tough but upon witnessing the sight of Machu Picchu through the Sun gate and the breathtaking views across the Andes, your efforts are much more than worthwhile.
