About Purple Day
Purple day began back in 2008 and has since become the international day for epilepsy awareness. Founded in the United States by Cassidy Megan, purple day is celebrated throughout the world and strives to raise awareness of, and dispel the myths associated with epilepsy.
What’s involved?
This Purple Day, Epilepsy Action is quite literally turning purple – and we want you to join us!
You can do anything – just make sure its PURPLE!
There are so many ways to go purple, this purple day - here are just a few to get you started.
P - Plan a PURPLE event – you can do anything just do it purple. Get together with your friends, family, colleagues and community group and see what purple-licious events you might like to take part in!
U – Use your PURPLE money box (within your purple toolkit) – raise money by setting purple punishments throughout the day and make those who don’t obey, donate purple pounds!
R – Request a copy of our PURPLE-LICIOUS fundraising toolkit – packed with all the tools and gizmos you could possibly need to make your purple day fundraising activity a huge success.
P – Paint yourself PURPLE - you can paint your hair, your face, even your moustache – but make sure you get sponsored to do so!
L – Learn more about epilepsy and PURPLE day – then tell 5 people a fact throughout the day
E - Eat PURPLE foods – Everyone loves to bake and what we love is how simple it can be! Why not organise a bake off and sell the cakes you bake amongst your family, colleagues and friends.
