Before The Big Eat
Decide on a venue - The most ideal place to host a Big Eat is in your home but depending on the size of your event you may want to use a local hall or community centre. You could also take your Big Eat outdoors if you wish!
Set a date for your Big Eat and register with Epilepsy Action to receive your organiser’s guide packed with invites, name cards and much much more! To register please email events@epilepsy.org.uk or call us on +44 (0)113 210 8800
Plan a theme for your Big Eat - our organiser’s guide has some great ideas!
Write to your local supermarket, they may be happy to support your Big Eat.
Ask your guests to each bring a dish to help save on time and costs, this is perfect for a buffet or tapas theme
Remember to find out if any of your guests are vegetarian or have any special dietary requirements.
On the day of your Big Eat
Help reach your fundraising target by asking for a minimum donation
Start your preparations early so that you can be ready to entertain!
Set the table and decorate your venue. If you would like any Epilepsy Action balloons and flags please contact the events team on 0113 210 8800 or email events@epilepsy.org.uk
Have fun!
After your Big Eat
Don’t forget to thank your guests for coming and kindly donating.
Ask all your guests to fill out the donation form on the back page of the organiser’s guide. If your guests are UK tax payers we can claim a further 28p for every £1 donated. Your donation is then increased by nearly a third, at no extra cost to you!
Send all money raised to The Big Eat, Epilepsy Action, New Anstey House, Gate Way Drive, Yeadon, Leeds, LS19 7XY as soon as possible after your event. All cheques should be made payable to Epilepsy Action.
Don’t forget to take photos at your Big Eat and send them to us at events@epilepsy.org.uk. Please ensure you get everyone’s permission before doing this.
