Epilepsy Today, healthcare updates & surveys

Epilepsy Today magazineAs a member, you will receive mailings through the year, keeping you up to date and involved. Six times a year we will send you our specialist epilepsy magazine Epilepsy Today – packed with news and articles, personal stories and letters.  We also send out letters, leaflets and surveys regarding epilepsy-related issues or events we feel you should know about.

Website, member-exclusive area and forum4e.com

Epilepsy Action’s award winning website contains over 1,000 pages of information about every aspect of epilepsy.  As a member, you will be able to visit a members-only area where you can read and download current or previous issues of Epilepsy Today, as well as exclusive articles and letters.  We send members a weekly email newsletter full of epilepsy news and we also have an online community, forum4e.comfor people with epilepsy.

Insurance services

In the past people with epilepsy have struggled to find quality, sensibly priced insurance policies.  As an Epilepsy Action member you will automatically receive Personal Accident Insurance cover for up to £1,000 worth of claims, absolutely free.  We have also selected epilepsy-friendly, competitively priced motor, travel and home and contents policies as well as a life assurance policy.

Conferences

We run conferences around the UK to bring together people with epilepsy, those with an interest in the condition and specialists such as neurologists, GPs and epilepsy nurses.  We advertise these events in Epilepsy Today and online.

Volunteering, support and branches

If you need to speak to someone personally, Epilepsy Action has trained accredited volunteers - ‘AVs’ - who can give support and advice to people with epilepsy or their families, friends or carers. They also raise awareness and give presentations in local schools, workplaces and care homes.  We have a network of over 80 branches around the country, set up and led by volunteers and open to everyone.  They hold regular meetings and offer a mixture of social, informative and fundraising events.
