Membership of Epilepsy Action includes some great benefits.

You can be as involved as suits you or just opt to receive our magazines and contact us as and when you need to.

Epilepsy advice and information

Our confidential Epilepsy Helpline provides support on any aspect of epilepsy, from medical care and treatment to driving, insurance,community care and education. Contact us free by phone, fax or email (see overleaf for details). We also continually update and add to our range of leaflets, books and factsheets. 

On joining, you will be asked to choose a complimentary copy of one of our three professional manuals on healthcare, education or general epilepsy care.  You will also receive discounts on further copies of the professional manuals and other resources.

Regular publications

You'll receive mailings through the year.  Our quarterly journal Epilepsy Professional contains news, stories and features. 

Six times a year we will send you our specialist epilepsy magazine Epilepsy Today, which includes articles, stories and letters.

You will also receive eight copies a year of Seizure, the European Journal of Epilepsy.  We also send out letters, leaflets and surveys regarding epilepsy-related issue or events we feel you should know about.

Website, memberZone and forum4e.com

Our award winning website contains over 1,000 pages of information about every aspect of epilepsy.  There is also a members-only area where you can read and download current or previous issues of our magazines, as well as exclusive articles and letters.  We send out a weekly email newsletter to anyone who subscribes, and we also have an online community for people with epilepsy - forum4e.com.

Workshops, conferences and resources

We run workshops and conferences around the UK to bring together people with an interest in epilepsy.  We advertise these events in our magazines and online.

Volunteering, support and branches

If you need to speak to someone one-to-one, Epilepsy Action has trained accredited volunteers who give support and advice to people with epilepsy or their families, friends or carers.  They also raise awareness and give presentations in local schools, workplaces and care homes.  We have a network of 80 branches around the country, led by volunteers.  They hold regular meetings and offer a mixture of social, informative and fundraising events.
