Booking has just opened for this year's Epilepsy Action National Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The AGM and national conference has, in past years, been held in different towns and cities in the UK - Leeds, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham and London - and in 2009 we'll be holding it in Gateshead.
We're still putting together the full programme for the day. However, we do know that several well-respected medical professionals will be offering their knowledge and experience as they explore this year’s theme – Prioritising epilepsy: who decides? This year, the conference will be giving delegates more opportunities to voice your thoughts and experiences than ever before. You will have the chance to speak up and share your views on epilepsy – giving you and everyone else a say about their life with epilepsy. Of course, you don’t have to speak up – you can sit there and take it all in!
But don't take our word for how good the day will be. Here are some quotes from people who came to least year's event:
- "I'm a recent member. I’m really here to seek information and gain greater knowledge. It’s been fascinating."
- "I thought the debate was an excellent opportunity for patients and health professionals to interact and give their different views. Personal stories are so important."
- "I thought [the day] was a brilliant for people who have epilepsy and those who don’t."
- "Very very impressed. I came here with no level of expectation, just to learn more about what Epilepsy Action was doing, specifically to look at one of the talks... Everybody’s very welcoming. I’ve learned a great deal just from the questions that have come from the floor, as well. They increased my understanding of where people were at. I really enjoyed the debate... All in all a very good meeting."
The AGM page on the website will tell you more about what's happening, and, importantly, how to book your place.
Thanks,
Mark @ Epilepsy Action
