Plymouth man goes the extra mile for epilepsy charity

A Plymouth man, whose fiancée has epilepsy, is preparing to lace up his running shoes to complete this year’s Eden Half Marathon. Ian Edmunds from Roborough will attempt the challenging 13.1 mile run on Sunday 9 October to raise vital funds for national charity Epilepsy Action. The charity provides advice and support to the 600,000 people with epilepsy in the UK.

Janet Boxall, stalwart of the Salisbury Branch of Epilepsy Action, has won a national award in recognition of her work for the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity.

The Epilepsy Action Branch Member of the Year Award will be presented to Janet on Wednesday 11 May at 6.30pm, at St Thomas’ House, St Thomas’ Square, Salisbury.  Richard Chapman, an Epilepsy Action trustee, will make the presentation.
