Brothers Team Up For Epilepsy Action

3 October, 2008

Two brothers from Hitchin in Hertfordshire and Kettering in Northamptonshire are training for their first ever running challenge, the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity.

Neil and Matt Cronin will be joining people from all over the UK on Sunday October 12 to run through the four royal parks of London. The half marathon takes in Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James's Park, and then runs alongside the River Thames.

Neil said: “Since my eight-year-old daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy, we’ve needed to use Epilepsy Action’s services. The charity’s website has helped us so much, and we realised that we are not the only people in the UK going through the same journey.”

Matt added: “My brother and I wish to raise awareness of the condition and give something back for the support our family has received through Epilepsy Action’s website and membership services.”

The money raised by the brothers will help fund the vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action. Last year alone the organisation directly helped over 731,000 people through a range of services, including an Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050, its network of branches across the UK and its award-winning website, www.epilepsy.org.uk
