Epilepsy Advice and Information Day in Cambridge

26 March, 2008

The Cambridge branch of Epilepsy Action is holding a public seminar on Wednesday April 2. The event will run from 7:00pm – 9:30pm at The Gonville Hotel, Cambridge.

The seminar entitled ‘Understanding Epilepsy’ will include a talk from neurologist, Dr Graham Lennox and Sian Raymond, an epilepsy specialist nurse, at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. The seminar will be an ideal opportunity for anyone living in the area with an interest in epilepsy to learn more about the condition. Delegates will also be provided with information about Epilepsy Action services across the UK, as well as support available locally.

Sue Blake, national manager for regional services said: “The event is aimed at providing information and support for people living with epilepsy and also to help launch a new Epilepsy Action branch in Cambridge.”

Sue continued: “We are also looking to engage the interest of any potential volunteers who can work with us in developing an active programme of ongoing support for people with epilepsy which the new branch will provide.”

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK. The branches hold regular meetings and offer a variety of social events and informative talks and discussions relating to epilepsy. The meetings also offer the opportunity for people to share their experiences of living with epilepsy and raise awareness of the condition in the local community.
