Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is hosting a family fun day for people of Harlow.
The event is supported by a grant from the ‘Essex Legacy from the 2012 Games’ fund as part of the Community Games programme. Local MP, Robert Halfon, will be presenting gold medals to games winners.
It will take place on 14 July from 11.30am until 4.00pm at Harlow Town Park between the café and the bandstand.
The day will be action packed with games suitable for people of all ages. These include wellie throwing, shot putting bean bags, styled duck racing (or synchronised swimming), Swingball, and volleyball. Information about epilepsy will be available to take away.
Marie Edgar, Epilepsy Action’s south east England manager, said: “We wanted to do something different! Providing people with epilepsy information while having fun and playing games seemed an obvious solution. We are grateful to the ‘Essex Legacy from the 2012 Games’ fund for their support with this event. Come along and get involved. This event is suitable for all the family, or people just wanting epilepsy information. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring a picnic, join the games and have some fun.”
The event is free and there is no need to book. For more information, please call Marie Edgar on 01708 479 536 (mobile: 07801 544 520). Alternatively, you can email medgar@epilepsy.org.uk
