Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, will be holding a tin collection in Stamford to support local people with epilepsy.
It will take place in the Stamford High Street and surrounding area on Friday 27 May. The aim of the collection is to raise awareness of the condition, and support the work of Epilepsy Action’s Stamford Branch.
Jill, secretary of the Stamford Branch, said: “Our Stamford Branch is self-funded and started in 1997. It would be great if shoppers in Stamford could support the branch’s work so we can continue supporting people with epilepsy, their families and carers. There will also an opportunity to speak to our branch members about epilepsy for anyone with a question, or interest.”
Julie Clark, Epilepsy Action’s local services manager for Central England, said: “The next branch meeting will be held on Thursday 26 May. Currently, Epilepsy Action is gathering feedback from our supporters to determine our future direction. If anyone from Stamford is interested in coming to the meeting and letting me know what they think, they are very welcome. There will also be a speaker talking about epilepsy and disabilities.”
The Stamford Branch meets on the last Thursday of the month from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at The Seminar Room, Stamford & Rutland Hospital, Ryhall Road, Stamford. For further information, please contact Jill on 01780 765 446.
Epilepsy Action has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK. Branches hold regular meetings and offer a variety of social events and informative talks and discussions relating to epilepsy. Meetings offer the opportunity for people to share their experiences
of living with epilepsy, and help to raise awareness of the condition in the local community.
