Stowmarket woman climbs high for epilepsy charity

8 July, 2010

A  Stowmarket woman, who has epilepsy, is taking on the 25-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge. Jayne Cage will be raising vital funds for Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity.

Jayne, 39, will take on the 12-hour challenge in the Yorkshire Dales National Park on Saturday 17 July. Jayne will follow a circular route of 25 miles, climbing Pen-y-ghent (694 metre), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres), all in a single day.

Jayne, who is also a trustee at Epilepsy Action, said: “This is a personal challenge to mark 20 years since I had neurosurgery to control my epilepsy. As a member of Epilepsy Action’s Council of Management, I am also keen to show my support for the charity in 2010 – its sixtieth anniversary year.”

Jayne is hoping to raise as much as possible by taking on the challenge. The money raised by Jayne will help fund the vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action. To sponsor Jayne and support Epilepsy Action, visit www.virginmoneygiving.com/jaynecage
