David Varney, chairman of the Derby branch of Epilepsy Action, has won a national award in recognition of his work for the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity.
The Epilepsy Action Branch Member of the Year Award will be presented to David by David Powell, Epilepsy Action’s regional services manager for Central England, at a branch meeting at 7.30pm on Tuesday May 13 at Devonshire House, Education Centre, Derbyshire Royal Infirmary.
David, a dedicated member of the Derby branch, has been active in helping those with epilepsy through his devoted commitment to Epilepsy Action and its work.
David Powell said: “David has worked tirelessly for the Derby branch for over 20 years and Epilepsy Action is presenting him with this award to show appreciation for all the dedication and hard work he has given to the charity.”
David Varney is delighted to have been nominated for this prestigious award and said: “It continues to be a pleasure to work on behalf of Epilepsy Action, helping to raise awareness of epilepsy within the local community, and I hope to continue for many more years to come!”
The meeting is open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy. There will be opportunities to access detailed information about living with the condition and to learn how to get involved in raising epilepsy awareness in the area.
