Epilepsy conference in Nottingham

3 May, 2007

A one-day conference on epilepsy, aimed at people with epilepsy, their families and anyone else with an interest in the condition, will take place in Nottingham on May 19 2007.

The event is being organised by the UK’s leading member-led epilepsy charity, Epilepsy Action, and will take place from 10am until 4.30pm at The Jurys Inn, Nottingham.

The theme of the conference is Epilepsy and You and will include presentations from a range of experts including Dr M O’Donoghue, a consultant neurologist; Dr E McCloskey, a consultant in metabolic bone medicine; Alison Holmes, an epilepsy specialist sapphire nurse; Sarah Pashley, an epilepsy specialist nurse, and Lucy Rollinson, Epilepsy Action’s campaigns officer (Take Control), who will be talking about the launch of the Take Control campaign in the East Midlands. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions to the speakers.

David Powell, Epilepsy Action’s regional services manager for Central England, said:
“This conference is an excellent way of bringing people together, and giving them the chance to gain advice on issues that affect them.”

The price of the conference tickets are £10.00 for members of Epilepsy Action; £12.00 for non members; £6.50 for concessionary rate, people who are in full time education, in receipt of benefits or on a state pension. Membership of Epilepsy Action can be purchased along with entrance to the conference for a special price of £27.00; or a concessionary membership of Epilepsy Action including concessionary conference fee of £17.50
