A Nottingham based Heavy Metal night and local band, Evil Scarecrow, have teamed up to arrange an all day heavy metal gig in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member led epilepsy charity.
The “Damaged Stock” all day event will take place on Saturday 4 August at Rock City, Nottingham. The gig is for over 14’s only. It will start at 2pm and run throughout the day until 11pm, with nine bands playing. Tickets for “Damaged Stock” cost £5 and are available from Rock City by calling the box office on: 0871 3100 000.
Evil Scarecrow’s manager says: “One of the band members has a child who was diagnosed with epilepsy last year at the age of 12. This obviously raised our awareness of the condition, so we decided we’d like to find a way to raise money for a charity that offers support to people with epilepsy and their families.”
“Dr. Hell” of Evil Scarecrow continues: “It is going to be a great event. Rock City has been very generous providing us with a venue, and all the bands are playing for free. We’re looking forward to seeing these very talented unsigned bands getting the chance to gig at one of the most famous venues in the country and hopefully playing to a large and enthusiastic crowd.”
The money raised by “Damaged Stock” will help fund vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action. The charity has a network of branches across the UK and now directly helps more than 550,000 people every year.
