Nottingham's all day heavy metal charity event, Damaged Stock, is to take place on August 30 in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation.
The hard rock music jam, now in its second year, will take place at Nottingham’s live venue and club, Rock City on Talbot Street. The event will provide the opportunity to see some of the UK's best heavy metal bands performing, whilst raising money to support the 456,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK.
Organiser, Jennifer Hill said: “The event features nine brilliant heavy metal bands from the underground scene, including Evil Scarecrow, Pitiful Reign, Outcryfire, Onsetcold and many more. All of the bands will be giving their time for free to raise money for Epilepsy Action. The event is great fun, and the music is set to be awesome!”
She continues: “A family member of a close friend was diagnosed with epilepsy last year at just 13-years-old. This inspired us to hold the first Damaged Stock in August 2007 where we raised over £600. It was so successful we decided to do it again!”
If you would like to join in the fun and help raise vital funds for Epilepsy Action you can purchase a ticket from the Rock City Box Office 0871 3100 000.
The money raised at Damaged Stock will help fund vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action. Last year, the charity directly helped over 731,000 people through a range of services including its advice and information centre, branch network, Epilepsy Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050 and award winning website, www.epilepsy.org.uk
