Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is holding a seminar in London on Saturday 25 July, to help support people living with the condition.
The seminar, which will focus on women and epilepsy, will take place at Friends Meeting House, Euston Road, London from 9.15am to 12.30pm. Guest speakers include Nicole Crosby-McKenna, development officer for women at Epilepsy Action, and Kim Morley, epilepsy nurse specialist and qualified midwife, at Southampton Hospital. Kim is author of an article on epilepsy and pregnancy, published in the British Journal of Midwifery.
The seminar will also include two workshops to promote discussion on women's health and pregnancy related issues. There will be a question and answer session at the end.
Marie Edgar, regional services manager for London and the south east, said: "This seminar will provide a valuable opportunity for people to find out more about the specific issues affecting women with epilepsy. The event welcomes both men and women, and will be of particular interest to those planning a pregnancy. There will also be an opportunity for people to ask questions, collect information and share their experiences with others.
"We hope as many people as possible come along and support what will be an interesting and informative seminar."
Anyone who would like to attend the seminar, or would like further information, should contact Jackie Kemp on 0113 210 8800.
