Durham and district seminar on epilepsy

11 March, 2008

The Durham and District branch of Epilepsy Action is to hold a public seminar on Wednesday March 26. The event will run from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at John Morgan Hall, Shakespeare Hall, North Road, Durham City.

The seminar, ‘Epilepsy: The Options’, will include a talk from Pam Mantri, an epilepsy specialist nurse at Durham Primary Care Trust. It will be an ideal opportunity for anyone with an interest in epilepsy to learn more about the condition and how to manage epilepsy within a community setting. Delegates will be provided with information about Epilepsy Action services UK wide, as well support available locally.

Bob Dennis, regional services manager for North East England, said: “I often receive many requests for information about living with epilepsy, particularly about access to support groups. As well as Pam’s presentation, there will be plenty of information for delegates to take away. So please come along and you will be made very welcome.”

Epilepsy Action is looking to develop a branch in the Durham City area with the aim of supporting people living with the condition in the region. If you are interested in getting involved with a local branch or would like to attend this event please contact Bob Dennis, on 0776 7242658 or email bdennis@epilepsy.org.uk

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK. The branches hold regular meetings and offer a variety of social events and informative talks and discussions relating to epilepsy. The meetings offer the opportunity for people to share their experiences of living with epilepsy and also raise awareness of the condition in the local community.
