A free public seminar on epilepsy is being held on Thursday, October 11 2007 by Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member-led epilepsy charity.
The seminar, from 7.00pm until 9.00pm at the Redcar Literary Institute, Lord Street, Redcar will give an overview of living with epilepsy and the latest developments in the treatment of the condition.
Bob Dennis, Epilepsy Action’s regional services manager for North East England, will lead the meeting with a talk about the work of Epilepsy Action, a national charity representing the 456,000 people with epilepsy. Maureen Pearce, epilepsy specialist nurse at James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough, will talk about the latest developments in the treatment of epilepsy.
Bob says: “Epilepsy Action is keen to address the under representation of people living with epilepsy in and around the Redcar area with the view to establishing a local branch of Epilepsy Action. “
Bob continues: “Whether you live with the condition, are a carer, friend, relative or are just interested in finding out more about what it means to live with epilepsy, please come along. There will be lots of information about epilepsy and the work of Epilepsy Action.”
Anyone interested in attending the seminar or in having a local branch to provide support and information on epilepsy, especially if they would like to help get it started, should contact Bob on 0191 2845892, or email him on bdennis@epilepsy.org.uk.
