The Stockport branch of Epilepsy Action, is to hold a meeting with a talk by a leading epilepsy specialist from 7.00pm-9.00pm on Wednesday May 7, 2008.
The meeting will take place at Friends Meeting House, Cooper Street, Stockport and will provide people affected by epilepsy in the Stockport area the opportunity to learn more about the condition. The talk by Dr Peter Richardson, consultant neurologist at Hope Hospital will particularly focus on surgery, including vagus nerve stimulation (VNS).
Gordon Smith, chair of the Stockport branch, said: “Dr Richardson’s talk will be informative and will provide an ideal opportunity for people to find out more about this often misunderstood condition. We hope that lots of people will come along and learn more about epilepsy and the treatments available.”
