Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity, is holding an advice and information day on Saturday 15 September between 9.30am and 4.00pm. The event will be held at Berwick Public Library, Walkergate, Berwick upon Tweed
The aim of the friendly and informal day is to make advice and information readily available, and to raise awareness and support of Epilepsy Action’s Berwick branch. Berwick Borough Council are promoting a ‘Fresher’s’ Day, aimed at informing the general public of the range of voluntary services available in and around Berwick.
Bob Dennis, Epilepsy Action’s regional services manager in the North East says: “Epilepsy Action’s Berwick branch will be available on the day to provide information about their work. The branch is open to all, regardless of whether you live with epilepsy, have a friend or family member with the condition or you are just interested in finding out more about what it means to live with the condition.”
Epilepsy Action has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK, which are run by volunteers. Most hold regular meetings and offer a mixture of social events and informative talks and discussions. The meetings also offer the opportunity to talk to people who understand what it is like to live with epilepsy as well as a chance to help raise awareness of epilepsy in the local community.
