Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led charity, is holding a tin collection and an advice and information day at Morrison’s supermarket in Berwick upon Tweed on Saturday August 18 between 10.00am and 3.00pm.
The aim of the friendly and informal day is to make advice and information readily available, and to raise money for the local branch whilst raising awareness of epilepsy.
Bob Dennis, Epilepsy Action’s regional services manager in the North East says: “The branch is open to all, regardless of whether you live with epilepsy, have a friend or family member with the condition or you are just interested in finding out more about what it means to live with the condition. Why not come along and find out how you can get involved.”
Epilepsy Action has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK, which are run by volunteers. Most hold regular meetings and offer a mixture of social events and informative talks and discussions. The meetings also offer the opportunity to talk to people who understand what it is like to live with epilepsy as well as a chance to help raise awareness of epilepsy in the local community.
