Gateshead’s Dianne Langthorne is getting ready for a mammoth 95 mile walk in aid of Epilepsy Action.
Dianne is taking part in the West Highland Way Walk in May to raise funds for the charity, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation.
Dianne said: “It is a personal challenge but also an attempt to raise awareness of epilepsy. I would like to make a difference if I can.
“I’m also looking forward to the challenge of walking the distances involved in such dramatic countryside.”
The route links Milngavie, on the outskirts of Glasgow, to Fort William. It takes six days to complete.
Melanie Hill, PR and Campaigns Manager for Epilepsy Action, said: “This is a magnificent challenge. Those who take part will be raising awareness of a condition that affects 456,000 people in the UK, whilst at the same time raising vital funds for our charity, which works to improve the lives of people with epilepsy.
“They will be making their way through some of the most dramatic and beautiful scenery in Europe. It’s sure to be an experience they will never forget.”
