Pupils at Chrysalis Day Nursery in Gadbrook Park, Northwich, have been named Northern nursery school winners in this year’s National Doodle Day competition.
National Doodle Day took place earlier this year in aid of Epilepsy Action and the Neurofibromatosis Association. Members of the public were invited to submit doodles into a national competition. The judging of the various categories was carried out by actor, author and Doodle Day Patron, Maureen Lipman. The work of all the winners is displayed in the Hall of Fame on the National Doodle Day website.
The school was awarded a number of learning aids kindly donated by Vtech; including a V.Smile console and Dora the Explorer Learning Game.
Yvonne Hardcastle, nursery manager at Chrysalis Day Nursery said: “We got involved with National Doodle Day because one of the children has epilepsy so we know how helpful Epilepsy Action can be to people and their families. We think this is a really good idea to raise money and it was a fun day as we also did a communal doodle which was displayed in the nursery to help boost funds.”
The event, which included a charity auction of almost 300 celebrity doodles, has raised more than £120,000 for the two charities over the last four years
