A group of volunteers are to start a local branch of the charity Epilepsy Action, to support people with epilepsy and their families in Oldham.
This follows on from an initial meeting in March where there was a high level of interest.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday April 24 at 7.30pm at the NHS Walk–In Centre, John Street, Oldham.
Annie Thompson, regional services manager, North England, for Epilepsy Action, who will attend the meeting, said: “The people who attended the first meeting were very positive about setting up a branch and raising awareness of the condition in the Oldham area. Local groups are open to anyone, whether a person with epilepsy themselves, a parent or carer, family member, friend, or just someone who wants to help out. If you are interested in getting involved, please come along”.
If anyone is interested in the branch but cannot attend the meeting, or requires more information about the meeting, please call Annie Thompson on 01904 426479 or 07843 359714.
