Epilepsy Action epilepsy seminar in Carlisle

2 April, 2007

Epilepsy Action Carlisle branch is holding a public information evening on Monday April 16 from 7pm until 9pm in the Tythe Barn, West Walls, Carlisle. Epilepsy Action is the UK’s largest member-led charity.

The event will focus on epilepsy medication, and is open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy. For further details, please contact Annie Thompson 01904 425479 / 07843 359784 or the branch chair Cath 07725 530131.

A video showing different types of seizures will be shown and Susan Hawker, a pharmacist for Cumbria PCT, will give a presentation on epilepsy medication. There will also be question and answer sessions.

Annie Thompson, Epilepsy Action’s regional services manager, said: “There are always new insights to be gleaned from events such as this one. The evening will give people in the Carlisle area affected by epilepsy an opportunity to find out really useful information and meet people in a similar situation.”

Epilepsy Action Carlisle branch members will be available to offer information about branch activities. It is hoped that the event will encourage people with an interest in epilepsy to attend meetings and become involved in raising awareness of epilepsy in the area.
