Epilepsy Action holds talk in Stockport

25 June, 2008

The Stockport branch of Epilepsy Action, is to hold a meeting with a talk by an epilepsy specialist nurse from 7.00pm-9.00pm on Wednesday July 2. The talk will take place at Friends Meeting House, Cooper Street, Stockport.

The meeting will include a talk from Helen Coyle, epilepsy specialist nurse at Salford Royal Hospital. The talk will be an ideal opportunity for anyone living in the area with an interest in epilepsy to learn more about the condition. Delegates will also be provided with information about Epilepsy Action services across the UK, as well as support available locally.

Annie Thompson, Epilepsy Action’s regional services manager for North West England and Yorkshire, said: “Helen’s talk will be very informative and will allow people to find out more about this often misunderstood condition. We hope that lots of people will come along and learn more about epilepsy and the treatments available.”

The meeting is open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy, including people living with the condition, their friends, family and carers. Anyone who is interested in attending the meeting, or who would like further information about the Stockport branch, should contact Gordon on 01625 872231.

Last year alone, Epilepsy Action directly helped over 731,000 people through a range of services, including its advice and information centre and branch network.
