The South Manchester branch of Epilepsy Action is to hold a meeting on Thursday 17 September, to support people affected by epilepsy in the area.
The meeting will run from 7.30pm to 9.00pm at Park House, 73 Northenden Road, Sale and is open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy.
Mr Peter Richardson, who is a neurosurgeon at the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, will be speaking at the meeting. Mr Richardson will speak about surgery options for people with epilepsy. Mr Richardson, who will retire this autumn, has been a great friend and supporter of Epilepsy Action, speaking at many events organised by the charity.
Cliff Challenger, regional services manager for northern England at Epilepsy Action, said: “I have had the privilege of hearing Peter Richardson speak on two occasions. He is an informative and entertaining speaker. He explains neurosurgery procedures in a straightforward way without talking down to an audience who aren’t medical professionals.”
Karen Miller, chair of the South Manchester branch, said: “Mr Richardson is always well received and is a great speaker, who really shows his knowledge and enthusiasm for his work.
"The meeting will also give people the opportunity to find out more about the support and help available for those affected by epilepsy in Manchester."
