Nicola Ridley of Milnthorpe will be taking part in Epilepsy Action’s National Tea Break by holding a tea and coffee morning on Saturday October 25.
The event will take place from 10.00am to 12.00pm at St Thomas’ Church in the village, and is open to anyone wanting to join in the fun. There’ll be tea, coffee and cake for sale to help raise vital funds for the 456,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK.
Nicola, who was diagnosed with epilepsy earlier this year, said: “I want to raise as much money as possible for Epilepsy Action. The organisation that has helped me view my diagnosis more positively and given the information and support I’ve needed to deal with the condition.”
She continued: “The event will be the perfect opportunity to meet new people over a nice cup of tea or coffee while also raising money for such a good cause!”
Nationwide, hundreds of people will be organising Tea Breaks. The event has been supported by TV stars and personalities, who have provided a variety of delicious recipe cards for the Tea Break packs being sent to the many people taking part. Celebrities include comedians Victoria Wood and Jo Brand; fitness expert Rosemary Conley; celebrity chef Alan Coxon; and many more
In the last five years the event has raised over £76,000 and Epilepsy Action is hoping to break the £100,000 barrier this year.
