We exist to improve the lives
of everyone affected by epilepsy

Running in Memory (Lancaster)

27 September, 2007

James Westbrook from Lancaster is taking part in this year’s BUPA Great North Run in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation.

The race, which is the world’s biggest half marathon, will take place on Sunday 30 September, starting in Newcastle and finishing 13.1 miles later in South Shields.

James says: “One of my close friends died in February this year at the age of 21 after a seizure, so this is a very personal challenge for me. I also want to be able to raise awareness of the condition as I feel it is often misunderstood. I am really looking forward to the end of the race and the feeling that I have actually made a difference.”

The money raised by James will help fund vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action, which directly helps more than 660,000 people every year.
