A Sale man, who has epilepsy, will trek along the length of Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland, to raise money for national charity Epilepsy Action.
Joe Stevenson, 22, will walk 25 miles from Chollerford, Northumberland, to Gilsland, Cumbria, across two days. Joe is taking on the challenge for Epilepsy Action because he has epilepsy.
Hadrian's Wall was built in AD122 on the orders of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. It stretched from the east to west coasts of Britain, from Bowness on Solway in the west to Wallsend in the east. Hadrian’s Wall is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which cuts through Northumberland National Park.
Joe said: “I personally have epilepsy and know how stressful and harsh it can be. Although I suffer from a loss of energy through my condition, I have been looking to build up my personal stamina in order to improve my own lifestyle and make a difference to the charity itself. I feel Epilepsy Action is a charity of great value and want to help it to continue its good work. Although the challenge will be tough, I’m looking forward to seeing some of the greatest sights in the UK and meeting some new people.”
Joe has already raised over £200 in sponsorship, and hopes to raise £475 in total. The money raised by Joe will help fund the vital advice and information services provided by Epilepsy Action. To sponsor Joe, visit www.justgiving.com/joe-stevenson
