Salford seminar on epilepsy surgery

10 March, 2008

The Salford branch of Epilepsy Action is to hold a public seminar on Thursday March 18. The event will run from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Patricroft Working Men’s Club, Legh Street, Eccles, Manchester.

The seminar entitled ‘Epilepsy Surgery’ will include a talk from Dr Peter Richardson, consultant neurosurgeon at Hope Hospital and is open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy. During the seminar there will also be question and answer sessions.

Rita Nicholas, the branch secretary for the Salford branch, said: “The presentation from Dr Richardson will provide people in the Manchester area with an opportunity to gain some very useful information about epilepsy surgery. It’s an ideal opportunity for people to find out more about what is often a misunderstood condition.”

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, has an extensive network of branches throughout the UK. The branches hold regular meetings and offer a variety of social events and informative talks and discussions relating to epilepsy. The meetings offer the opportunity for people to share their experiences of living with epilepsy and also raise awareness of the condition in the local community.
